Upton Farm, 1729

This map appears to show some of the Common Field strips which had earlier been allocated by lot to different farmers. This would take us back to the medieval period, but by this time most had been consolidated into rectangular fields and let to the same farmers for a number of years since their names appear on the map.

on the map on Page 16, immediately above the word Hyde.
